Gutter cleaning SEO in Portland that fills the fall calendar.

Portland gutter cleaners pay Google up to $16 a click for searches the top three get for free. I build the foundation that puts you in the pack, in the organic results, and in the AI answer, then hand you the numbers every month.

Numbers pulled 6 September 2026 · Portland, OR and the metro

The first big rain of October backs up a gutter, and a homeowner in the Pearl District types gutter cleaning near me into a phone. Fifty-five thousand searches a month say the same across the country, at a difficulty of zero. Three companies in Portland get that call for free. The rest pay eight to twelve dollars for it, or wait for the phone to ring.

This page is what I would do for a gutter, roof, and moss cleaning company in the Portland metro: the actual search numbers, the three places you have to show up, and the first ninety days written out. Every figure comes from Ahrefs on the date below.

Ahrefs, US, September 2026. Volume is monthly searches. CPC is what advertisers pay per click today. Multiply the two and you have what advertisers would pay for those clicks. The map ranks businesses that have both a complete Google Business Profile and a website that backs it up. Missing either one puts you below everyone who has both, before reviews are even counted.

03section.places

Three places you have to show up

The map, the ten links under it, and the answer an AI gives when someone asks it instead of Google. They are three different games, and most Portland gutter cleaners are only playing one.

  1. 01

    The local pack

The three-pack is the first thing on the screen and the last thing most gutter cleaners work on. It runs on your Google Business Profile: Gutter Cleaning Service as the primary category, roof cleaning and moss removal listed as services, photos from real jobs, reviews that keep coming, hours that say whether you work Saturdays, and whether every directory on the internet agrees on your phone number. Look at the capture: all three say Closed on a Sunday evening, which is exactly when the gutters overflow, and the company in first place is also paying for the sponsored slot under its own listing.

Google results for gutter cleaning portland: three gutter cleaning services on a map, all closed, with a sponsored listing below
"gutter cleaning portland" on September 6, 2026. PDX Roof Cleaning, PDX Clean King, and All Surface Cleaning hold the pack on 759, 468, and 1,600 reviews. All three are closed until Monday. PDX Roof Cleaning is also paying for the sponsored slot.
  2. 02

    The organic results

Under the map for gutter cleaning portland come a Reddit thread at second, then Yelp, TaskRabbit, Angi, and Thumbtack between the companies themselves. A directory outranking you for your own service means the page it wants is missing from your site. Gutter cleaning, roof cleaning, moss removal, gutter repair, Beaverton, Gresham, Vancouver: one page each, written for the person searching, with the starting price on it, fast on a phone.

    The AI answer

ChatGPT does not read the map. It reads what the rest of the internet says about you, and for this trade that is mostly your own website. Asked for weekend gutter cleaning quotes near 97209, ChatGPT named NW Shine, USA Gutter, and Moss Busters, and for each one it quoted the company's site: the address, the phone number, the services, the starting price, and the hours. None of the three are in Google's pack. Two of them are absent from Google's first fifteen results. The AI read a neighborhood list, a services list, and a starting price in text, and it repeated them to a customer with money in hand. That is generative engine optimization, and the three companies that won it are the three with a current website. Ask the AI for three more and it goes to each company's own site for what they do and where they work. A company that has cleaned gutters for twenty years with a site from 2012 is invisible to the machine now writing the recommendations. Every page you publish is data for the search engine and the AI, and they repeat exactly what you give them.

ChatGPT asked for gutter cleaning quotes near 97209, naming NW Shine, USA Gutter, and Moss Busters with each company's website as the source
ChatGPT, asked for a few gutter cleaners to get weekend quotes from near 97209. It named NW Shine, USA Gutter, and Moss Busters, none of them in Google's three-pack, and linked each company's own website as the source.

04section.gaps

The three things missing

Every gutter cleaner I talk to is booked solid from October to December. These are the gaps that keep the busy ones from growing the other nine months.

  1. No system

    [01]

The estimate is a phone call and a guess, the schedule is a notebook, and the spring visit never gets booked because nobody asked in the fall. Every finished job is a recurring customer, and most of them are never put on a calendar.

  2. No search

    [02]

The site says "gutter cleaning, roof cleaning, pressure washing" on one page and stops. It has no page for moss removal, no starting price, and no list of the neighborhoods you work in, so Google sends the person searching to a directory and the AI has nothing to quote.

  3. No structure

    [03]

Reviews get asked for when someone remembers. NW Shine has more than 210 five-star Google reviews because somebody built the habit. Every finished job is a review and a before-and-after photo, and most of them are never asked for.

05section.plan

The first ninety days

Dated, in order, and you can stop after any step.

  1. 01

    Day 1

    Consultation

How people find you now, where you show up for the searches above, what every directory says about you, what the AI answer says, and where the site loses the visitor. You get it in writing, with what each fix is worth.

  2. 02

    Weeks 1 to 4

    Foundation

Google Business Profile rebuilt with Gutter Cleaning Service as the primary category and roof cleaning, moss removal, and pressure washing listed. Citations cleaned so the address and phone number match on Yelp, Angi, BBB, the Chamber, and the rest. Site speed fixed, schema added, one page per service with a starting price on it.

  3. 03

    Months 2 to 3

    Reach

A pricing page gets the most work, because gutter cleaning cost is 4,600 searches a month at a difficulty of zero and Google already answers it with an AI Overview. Moss removal next, at a $16 click. Area pages for Beaverton, Gresham, Lake Oswego, and Vancouver, with the neighborhoods named in text. GEO pages that answer the questions people ask ChatGPT, with your hours in them.

  4. 04

    Ongoing

    Tracking

Rankings for the searches above, calls and forms by source and by season, a review engine that asks every customer at the right moment, and a spring reminder to every fall customer. One report a month you can read in five minutes.

06section.tactics

Five things specific to gutter cleaning

The generic playbook works. These are the parts that work harder for a gutter and roof cleaning company in Portland.

  • Publish the starting price

Gutter cleaning cost, gutter cleaning prices, and how much does gutter cleaning cost add up to 5,900 searches a month, and the AI named Moss Busters with its starting price attached. A page that states the number answers Google's AI Overview and ChatGPT at once. Everyone else is making the customer call to find out.

  • One page per service, one per city

Gutter cleaning, roof cleaning, moss removal, gutter repair, pressure washing, window cleaning. Portland, Beaverton, Gresham, Lake Oswego, Vancouver. Gutter cleaning gresham and roof moss removal near me sit at a difficulty of zero because nobody has written the page.

  • Name the neighborhoods

NW Shine was named for 97209 because its site lists the Pearl District and Nob Hill by name. The engine matches the customer's ZIP code to the words on your page. A service-area list with every suburb and every neighborhood you work in is one of the highest-return pages in this trade.

  • Say what you do on weekends

The AI warned the customer that Moss Busters might be closed on the weekend they needed. If you work Saturdays in the fall, every listing and the site say so in the same words. If you stop on Friday, say that too, and the engine routes weekend jobs elsewhere on purpose instead of by mistake.

  • Book the spring visit in the fall

A gutter customer is a twice-a-year customer. A text after the fall job with a date for the spring visit is the cheapest booking on the calendar, and a full spring calendar is what turns a seasonal business into a steady one. That is a system, and I build it alongside the search work.

The same playbook, measured

The proof is a client's result. West Coast Deals, an eight-channel store I have worked for since 2022, launched its own direct-to-consumer website in 2026. On a site under a year old, the same search and AI work took their Ahrefs organic traffic from about 20 to more than 450 between March and September 2026, with their ads switched off in August, and put their store in 5,400 AI answers in three months. Those are their numbers. The same playbook, the profile, the pages, and the records the AI reads, is what I would put to work for a gutter cleaner in Portland.

What it costs

The consultation is free. I come back with the scope of the project and what I would recommend, and the pricing is published: three monthly SEO plans with no setup fees, Local month to month and Growth and Superior with the website included on a three-month minimum, and three website builds at a one-time price. You can stop after any step.

Six fields, under two minutes. I reply within one business day with the scope and what I would recommend.

A couple of sentences is plenty: the calls that don't come, the page that doesn't rank, the spreadsheet, the thing that eats a morning.

Only if you need a tool built. SEO plans and website builds are priced on the pricing page. A ballpark helps me scope the build.

09section.faq

Questions Portland gutter cleaners ask

How long does gutter cleaning SEO take to work in Portland?

The profile and citation work moves the map first, usually inside the first two months. Organic pages take three to six months to settle.

Do I need a new website?

Usually not. Most gutter cleaning sites need speed, structure, service pages, and a price on the page. If the site cannot be fixed, I say so in the consultation and give you a fixed price for a rebuild.

Should I publish my prices?

A starting price is enough, and it is the single most valuable line on the site for this trade. The AI named Moss Busters with its starting price attached, and 5,900 searches a month ask Google what gutter cleaning costs.

What is GEO, and does it matter for a gutter cleaner?

Generative engine optimization: being the company an AI names when someone asks it for a gutter cleaner. It matters now because the question is being asked now, and for this trade the answer is built almost entirely from your own website, which is the one thing you control completely.

Do you run Google Ads?

No. The consultation shows what each click costs you today, and I will tell you when ads make sense, but I do not run them. The point of this work is to stop needing them.

Can you get me reviews?

I build the system that asks every customer at the right moment. The reviews come from your work. I do not buy, seed, or write them.

What about roof cleaning, moss removal, and pressure washing?

Each gets its own page. Roof cleaning near me is 16,000 searches a month, moss removal portland is a $16 click, and roof moss removal near me is 450 a month at a difficulty of zero. The companies the AI named all bundle these, and each page is another specific reason to be named.

How do you report?

One page a month: rankings for the searches on this page, calls and forms by source and by season, reviews gained, and what I did. Plus the dashboards themselves, which you own.

What does it cost?

The consultation is free, and it comes back with the scope and what I recommend. Local SEO is month to month, Growth and Superior include the website on a three-month minimum, there are no setup fees, and website builds are one-time. Every price is on the pricing page.
